Edward Mooney: “Passionate Speech: Cavell and the Dark Woods of a Life”

Edward Mooney (Religion and Philosophy, Syracuse University) — author of the recently published book, Lost Intimacy in American Thought (Continuum 2009) — gave a talk earlier this week at Le Moyne College, as part of the Cavelleria Siracusa organized by William Day (Philosophy, Le Moyne). Very happily, Prof. Mooney has provided us with a copy of the talk he delivered, and has generously invited us to post it here. He describes this as a talk on Cavell, “aimed a bit at non-specialists.”

We want to thank him for sharing this with us, and for allowing us to share it with all of you. Correspondence about this paper can be directed to Prof. Mooney at this email address: efmooney@syr.edu
