Michael S. Roth (Wesleyan University) has written a wonderful, impassioned review essay — on Georges Didi-Huberman’s Images in Spite of All: Four Photographs from Auschwitz and Michael Fried’s Why Photography Matters as Art as Never Before — which I thought would be of great interest to many of you.
