Kelly Jolley (Philosophy, Auburn University) has just written us with the exciting news that Auburn will host a conference in 2011 focused on the contemporary relevance of Wittgenstein’s Tractatus. He thought readers of this blog would like to know of this event. Many thanks to Prof. Jolley for sending us word of it.
Below is the initial announcement he sent us. We’ll post more, in the future, as plans develop.
“Contemporary Tractatus,” the 3rd Annual Auburn University Philosophy Conference, will be held March 3-5, 2011 at Auburn University. Speakers will address the relevance of the Tractatus to contemporary philosophy. Cora Diamond, James Conant, Warren Goldfarb and Juliet Floyd, among others, are scheduled to speak.
